Music / Expression Media & Arts Sharing

Readers and maybe one day followers or community members. I am adding another page to my growth of expanding this webpages and my knowledge of creation. I hope to share Music either by link or by actual content.
I ask for your forgiveness now, and I hope to take some chances and some risks learning how to work with sharing music and video. Enjoy as I learn to share mixed media content!

MUSIC

I would like to share some music with you on this page and particularly I enjoy when bands cover songs. I like to see differnent takes or creative perspective on how songs are played. Sometimes the band is true to the original song, sometimes they add a style that is uniquely their own and the song takes on an even more popular avenue.
I present to you examples of this phenomena, please enjoy!
This is the song originally by Nine Days Absolutely (Story of a Girl). check out the original version and then the punk rock version by Future Idiots. I do enjoy a good punk rock cover song.
Mumford & Sons is a British band which is making advancements in their popularity and a growing inspiration to me. Check out their appearance on Live On Letterman and a music video called Lover of the Light.
The comparison here is the Train song; "50  Ways To Say Goodbye", with the familiar melody from Phantom of the Opera. I thought it was interesting that Train sampled or barrowed this Broadway melody. Enjoy both songs now!
This is the song originally by Genesis Land of Confusion. Check out Disturbed's version if you have not heard it on the radio already, just another great example of cover songs getting better!
This next song was so popular that it was covered by two different styles of bands!
The song is originally by A-Ha called Take On Me.
Two other bands that also covered it; MxPx and Reel Big Fish.
These are fun bands to look up.
The videos are no longer available, and I had to take down the media.

I am also a fan of SKA bands and their rock and brass mix sound style.
This is the song originally by Bob Seger, Turn the Page. Metallica turned it into a super Rock song when they covered it and still give due credit to the man who wrote it in this Live clip.
This song is originally by Thin Lizzy, The Boys Are Back In Town. Kiss has covered this song and so has Everclear. I am sure it is popular to many other bands LIVE in concert, and just fun to ROCK out to. Enjoy!
